Instructor Profile

Amy has been involved in the fitness industry in Corvallis for over 15-years. She has taught fitness classes in variety of capacities, including OSU’s Nutrition Exercise Science program, Timberhill Athletic Club, Dixon Recreation Center, and WOW! Fitness. Currently, she teaches and trains privately as owner & operator of Fitness with Amy.

Amy received both her Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees at Oregon State University. Although neither degree is fitness-related, she is using her academic training as a part-time instructor at Linn-Benton Community College where she teaches in Animal Sciences as a part of the Department of Agriculture.

Amy is on the Girls on the Run Advisory Board, and also sponsors and coaches Franklin’s Girls on the Run Team. Her passion is to have a positive influence on women and girls, to embrace health & fitness as a fun and important part of everyday life. Amy is also involved in a variety of agricultural-based organizations, on both the local, state, and national level. She is a member of the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce, and was selected as a delegate for Leadership Corvallis, class of 2012.

Amy, and her husband Ben, live on a small farm just outside of Corvallis with their two beautiful daughters. They raise Jersey & Holstein dairy cattle, market steers, breeding & market hogs, chickens, and hay. They enjoy attending livestock shows, cheering on the Beavers, and spending time together as a farm family.

When Amy is not teaching or shuffling her daughters to their various activities, she is generally found out on the farm – where her heart is. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, wine tasting, sun bathing, watching football, and workout out....of course!
